What should I do? Cry? Anit Rattle Spring

Today I changed the gearbox oil.
When clearing up I found a small spring
I think it is an anti rattle spring.
What should I do?
The car drives very well.
I am assuming a previous owner dropped the spring in and probably the plunger too.
I have not found the plunger.
Should I cry?
Leave well alone?
Any ideas people.

hi
first thoughts are ,if it's driving well I'd be tempted to leave well alone ,until you need to take it apart

There are 2 sizes of spring used in the gearbox 1 is approx 6mm diameter the other approx 3mm if the former probably been accidentally dropped in, if the latter more of a worry as it's fitted to one of the sliding hubs along with a small (4mm) ball bearing.

This spring I found is 6.5mm by 15mm

There are a few of that size but the only one than could get inside the box would come from the anti rattle plug in the gearlever housing and if there is still one there then I'd assume someone dropped a spring in the past whilst trying to put it in place. The spring is placed 1st so the brass plug may not have followed.

If it's not broken - don't fix it.......
