Has anybody any experience of doing this with their Minor? I'm hoping that the Metro bases will bolt into the moggie without too much fabrication required...... do let me know what's needed!

You will need seat adapters which will cost more than the seats

It was a very popular modification when Metros were plentiful on the scrapyard stacks, and the early versions do suit the Minor very well, unlike some modern options nowadays which appear somewhat incongruous.

But yes, you will need to find a suitable pair of runners.

Various specialists do the seat mounting frames from around £50 a pair, so it may not be more than the seats cost obviously depending how much your seats cost.... Suppliers include Birmingham Minor Cantre and JLH and others, or you can fabricate your own.

They're too big imo.

Metro seats are deceptively large - quite a bit bigger than the seats from an 80s Ford Fiesta/Escort which would be a better fit imo and far more plentiful.

I have fitted them to a Minor though, using blocks of wood as spacers, long bolts and fat square washers. Bolts went through the Metro subframes, through the wood and through the floor of the moggy.
Not elegant but passed MOT as they were solid. The wood was covered in red felt to match the carpet so it didnt look too pikey and was a quick simple solution!

The thing I like about the Metro seats is the large hole in the head-rest so the rear seat passengers can still have a good view.
