Ive lost my keys & the locks are good so the usual most similar keys may fit sadly dosnt apply! Typical lol.

I guess ill have to change all the locks now, unless anyone knows how i could get replacment keys for the locks. I cant find any codes on the barrels.

Anyone able to help?

Cheers

I'd suggest contacting one of the Minor Parts suppliers who will no doubt be able to help you.

If anyone has any suggestions that they would be willing to impart, please do so via PM, as this information may be security-sensitive. This board is visible by anyone as a guest, and people may not be who they say they are.

There, that's the Internet-Safety lesson over...

you could just leave the car unlocked and mangle the ignition barrel a bit so a screwdriver will work ;)

Matt your right that would indeed work, but maybe not the most sensible suggestion.

I think he's trying to sell it though matt. Lack of keys just might look a teeny bit suspect!

Yeah - the guy he came down from dudley wasnt to impressed i dont think lol. the best i could do was push it around. Even the damn boot was locked lol.

Thanks to Kevin for his help. I took out the ignition, took it to the lock smiths they stripped it down & made a perfect key which fits everything.

Only cost £7 for two keys. So im happy.

Cheers

Advice to all owners - make a note of the FS (or other) number and get a spare cut as soon as you can. I keep the key numbers written down and filed away with the reg documents. Various suppliers advertise stocks of FS etc key blanks, including, I think, the club spares department.

VERY good advice there Nick.

I always have 3 sets of keys for my cars. One set with me, one hanging up in the kitchen (in case anyone needs to move a car) and a spare set hidden away.......

Having a spare sets of keys is a 'no-brainer' (as the Americans would say). I've always had a spare set for every car I've owned. My roadworthy mog came with only one key but I happily found that the FS key for my 4-door wreck was the same! Unfortunately that key didn't work in my Traveller :-? , but the boot lock key did! So I've never had to get a key cut for any of my minors.

Well that contradicts itself in both of your postings at 12:25 & 12:26, if there are 3 keys between 3 cars and one of the cars uses 2 of the keys you need at least another 4 keys to have a full set of spares for all 3 cars and if you lose/mislay the 4 Door boot key you wont be able to open the boot or open anything on the Traveller :-?

Eh? I only posted once (at 11.25 on my computer). You seeing double again Kev? I would lay off the booze if I were you.....

To clarify, I ordered two fs keys for the 4 door in April 99 because it was found on the street. Four months later I got another key with my 2-door car so I had 3 keys for two cars. Two years later I got a new boot lid lock for the 2-door which came with two keys, and then I got another one with the traveller. So I've got three sets of Minor keys which can all open & start any one of the three Minors.

There's not much point having six sets of keys when I've only got one roadworthy minor!

Hello all,
FWIW, we have a Minor and a Triumph and each cars' set of keys has the spares for the opposite car.
