S.U Yamaha

I shall try and get a photograph, the chap who knocked together the drawings for some house mods we are having done arrived last week on a Royal Enfield.
This week he brought out his Yamaha V twin 750.
Nothing unusual there you might say and quite right, but he mentioned the Yamaha carbs were rap with a pronounced letter c.
Hated working on them so much he replaced them, as he pulled away I got a view of a home brew inlet manifold with an S.U. carb fitted and a minor air filter to boot.

Excellent! And yet the wee neds are all running about putting 'bike carbs' on their Minis........ :roll:

Yamaha carbs are fantastic bits of kit, well engineered of quality metal. Very similar to SUs really, or better yet Strombergs, needle in jet and a spring on the top.

You can't beat an SU for reliability and simplicity. :D
