Rear wheel bearings

Hi,
I am changing the offside rear wheel bearing. My Haynes manual talks about putting grease in the bearing upon reassembly, but having taken the bearing out, it is clear that the lubrication is from the differential oil. Am I correct, therefore, that when putting the new bearing in, there is no requirement to use grease?
Thanks in advance!!
