hello hope someone can help,
Ive just started to have problems with my starter motor. I can turn the key i can hear the solenoid click in but nothing.
I can get the motor to kick in but i have to rotate the spindle on the motor (which rotates quite easily with a small spanner) back and forth or a few rotations. It doesnt always work first time but it would seem if i get it in the right place it starts.
This is now starting to fail a bit as at first it kicked in strongly but it struggles a bit now.
This has deteriated over a few days as i use my car daily.
Is this an easy fix or is a replacement/refurbished motor is required??
Any thoughts would be helpful
regards
david

Probably just needs new brushes - and a clean up of the commutator. I would get hold of a spare starter and stick that in to keep you on the road - while you fix the one you have.... I see Club Spares claim to have NEW ones for £30 - which frankly is a good buy if they really are NEW.

Also worth checking, from recent experience. Are the mounting bolts tight? Are the two long bolts tight? Check for starter movement when pressing solenoid button. Is the terminal tight? Wiggle the lead whilst pressing the solenoid button

1st check ur battery it want 12.3 to 12.5 - 2nd check solonid swich - if it is not - problem in ur starter morter 1st. Check brush 2. Led soldering plases of armicher If it is not - have a electrical short in ur morter - u have to remove field coils and reset it using winding pepar and gum- now it work fine
