Haven't seen anything like No 1 before.
No 2 looks like an under bonnet remote starter... bridge the solenoid terminals and press the button. For when you don't have a mate to lend you a hand.

yes the bottom one is a remote starter. But you DON'T put the clips accross the solenoid the button switch won't take full sterter current. One clip goes on the battery (none earth side) the other clip goes on the solenoid primary conection (the one that comes from the ignition key switch) when you press the button the solenoid energises to operate the starter just like the key does!

The top pic is a car specific feeler gauge set 2 blades one for points the other for the plug gap OR the valve clearances inlet & exhaust

It looks to be 14/16 though for points and the other possibly is 25/30 though for plugs

its not a remote switch then. Just a simple test lamp.

can you get a close up of the yellow bit?

just been on google. the yellow bit should have a number on it
which relates to the car its for.
the chrome ring fits on the dizzy cam for setting the points so you dont
have to find the heal :-?
how that works i dont know[frame]Image[/frame]

the thickness of the ring material must be deducted from the actual points gap measurement. but it looks fairly thick, more than the points gap, so as our yoof says "how's that work then"

It wouldn't feel right to me, not setting points on the heel! probably that's why they call me "Pops"

I have one of those Remax contact setters with full instructions, always in the car but never actually used it in all these years... the ring thing perhaps put me off as I can't fathom it out.
