Temp Guage problem
My 1275 head has a temp guage fitted into the block. When re-tightening the fitting that is housed in the block has cracked and leaks water. I am afraid to force this fitting, any offers how to remove, or re-engineer offending problem?
Re: Temp Guage problem
Doh, snapped the nut off, left with a threaded hole (Brass lined?) in the block, the temp guage seems to tighten up OK, and isn't leaking water, I'll see this evening how it holds up under pressure. Fingers crossed for First Fire up after what must be one of the longest Head Gasket changes ever. Unless YOU know better...
Re: Temp Guage problem
The temp gauge normally fits in the cylinder head - not the block. What cracked - the head? Or the fitting?? As long as it's not leaking - be glad. 30 minutes changes a head gasket IF you are in a hurry - ie between 'runs' at a competition..... How long did it take you?
