Wiring up a cigar lighter

Has anyone fitted a cigar lighter to their Morris?
I'd like to fit one to power my sat nav, but I'm not sure how - and am rather afraid of causing a different sort of fire!
Is this a job for an auto electrician?
My car is negative earth and the cigar lighter I have was rescued from my old MkIII Astra.
Any suggestions on where to mount it would also be appreciated - I don't smoke so I'd be happy to fit it somewhere out of sight.
Thanks all

Stick it where the run don't shine......... Seriously - this must be the simplest job on a a Minor. Decide if you want it on ALL the time or just when the Ign is on... BUT - NEVER sit with Ign on and engine not running - just to use the power outlet....... If on all the time - then wire to the Lilac wire at the fuse box and if Ign only - then to the Green wire at the fuse box. If you want to be super safe - use an in-line 5 amp fuse in the line to the outlet. And make sure all wires are protected from sharp edges and where they run through the bulkhead to get to the fusebox. Obviously the earth side of the power outlet goes to any handy body connection - should really use a black wire for that.
