Fittting spotlights

I have just brought a lovley set of soptlights (they are chrome ones for a mini)
1) how do I fit them? I was going to bolt them to the bumper, will i have to use any re-inforcement?
2) how do I wire them up? I want them to come on when I put full beam on, will I need to use a solnoid?

Easiest way to fit them is to go to HAlfrauds & buy their loom, comes with relay, wires, fuse holder, fuse etc all for £11. Good thing with this is that you also get step by step instructions & diagrams, it's not that hard.
You do really need to use a relay otherwise you will burn out a switch pretty quickly - not sure if you can run them successfully with +ve, can't see why not but someone on here will know for definite I'm sure...
I would make sure you have big washers or preferably custom made plates behind the bumper to support them, the bumpers are pretty flimsy in that plane as the shape does not reinforce it at all..

1. Bolt 'em straight to the bumper, fibreglass or steel, it doesn't matter. Use large washers underneath to spread the load, if you can.
2. However you like. If they're spot lights, then they should come on with the main beam only. And I'm sorry to say, if they're anything like mine, they'll be totally useless... The fog lights are much better - I have mine angled slightly to "see" around blind bends, which is great in the country. You really ought to use a relay - especially with two of them, because it could be a lot for the old dip-switch to manage.
