Morris Minor Owners Club

Hi fellow members..i am now living in Germany and will be moving further North next year. I will hopefully be looking to return home and buy me a Morris 1000, traveller or pick up. I did read somewhere that they were also made for other countries, hence the pedal holes on both sides. Would it be possible to convert to LHD..? If so...what would be required.
The T.U.V here is a bit tougher than the UK MOT, but i,ll cross that one later..any advice...much appreciated.

Probably one of the easiest cars to convert. Fit LHD Steering rack and move the column over, move the accelerator pedal and the brake master cylinder/pedal and the clutch pedal. Biggest nuisance will be changing the front plate in the gearbox (to allow the operating fork to come out the LH side) - needing either engine or gearbox removal. Or - change to hydraulic clutch operation which would save need to drop the gearbox. And change the headlights of course. The key operated door lock may be a nuisance - only on the passenger side door !

Thanks for that info. I will post on here my progress, i think the hard part will be getting hold of the LHD steering rack. Not so much a problem when it comes to the TUV. i just put my 17 year old Rover 400 in and passed. OK ,i had to do the headlight change, cancel 1 rear fog light , fit new cat and lambda, but then it passed and thats good for 2 years. Cant see it lasting that long but i changed the timing belt, water pump and did a full service,,,,so we wait and see. I,m not too fussed on what Morris 1000 model i get.. but it has to wait till i move north in about a year,,then ill have an extra garage just for the job.
