braided brake hoses

Hello everyone,
I've just replaced my brake flexible hoses with braided versions. No problems with that as the originals were looking a bit the worse for wear. However, how do you know when it's time to replace the braided versions in the future? I just used to pinch the traditional ones and if they looked a bit cracked, then it was time. With the braided ones, how can you tell so is it best to change them every so many years? Does anyone have any experience of this? It's a bit too late when the brake pedal hits the floor. :)
Many thanks, Colin.

I fitted these to my MGB and pondered the same problem. In my experience brake hoses will last about ten years so I will change the braided ones at about 7 or 8 years to be on the safe side.

Thanks Beero. I'm glad I'm not alone.

It may seem obvious but make sure that you keep a record of the date of fitting the braided brake pipes whatever period of time you decide to keep them on the car!
I personally would go for no more than 6 years.

Thanks for that. Time to put the receipt in the "folder of useful things" and then remember where I've put it. Then I'll know when I fitted them.
Thanks again, Colin.

I have to ask 'why' ?? What's wrong with the standard hoses??
