Heater refurb

Post by Declan_Burns »

Just refurbed the old heater. I think it turned out quite nice although the wrinkle paint is a bit on the coarse side.
I had the "SCREEN CAR OFF" sticker made. They are the Letraset rub on type. I have a few spare sets too.

What year is that from? It's quite a bit different than the one in our '61.

Looks fantastic.

I've just stripped mine to refurb it.
Where did you get the lettering stickers?

I was looking at the motor and wondering if it would be possible to replace the fan switch with a three position one and a resistor or voltage regulator to drop the voltage in one position. Thus making it a two speed fan.

What do you think?

You could - but the resistor will need to 'spill' quite a bit of heat........ The fan hardly runs fast as it is......common nupgrade is to the much better later Mini fan in the same casing - which blows a good deal harder!

A mate of mine who is a signmaker did them for me.
