Seeing as you dont have a specific section so new members can introduce themselves,
I though I had better say hi and let you all know a bit about me.

Hi!! :)

Been into classic cars since passing test in 1977,predominantly owned and used classics ever since.
Passed my test in my grandads 4 door, and my 1st car age 17 was a 1960,1275tc powered Minor 2 door that went like a scalded cat.
I am a totally self taught,"mostly", hands on oldskool mechanic.
Used to manage 24hr petrol stations and some with attached car repair workshops/MOT bays.
Also spent 5yrs selfemployed as a mobile vehicle mechanic.
Left the management ratrace for a simple delivery driver job 15 yrs ago,and just retired from that for an even more relaxed life!
My everyday, daily driver of the last 13yrs is my 1971 Rover P6V8,had a Dolomite Sprint for 11yrs before that.
Also,S1 Daimler XJ6 4.2, Triumphs,Marina's,Morris 1000 2 door and traveller,S1 Jag XJ6,and a couple of Fords Austin 1100's,mainly british metal.
Bought, sold, repaired, restored, recomissioned many classics over the years as a hobby, now semi retired with a p/t driving job and having more playtime for classics.
I have always serviced, repaired, maintained relations and freinds classic cars!
And most classic car owners are my freinds, ive just not met them all yet!
My other cars include my gold medal and show winning 1970 Triumph TR6pi,I restored in 2008,that I dont intend to sell, and a 1964 Morris Traveller ive just bought to restore this year.
Last year I bought and nut/bolt restored a 1954 MGTF1500,that 1wk after completion won Best sportscar of show at a well attended local event.
That has now been sold, and the traveller is in the workshop getting attention.
It has believe it or not a rust free chassis/shell,but the bolt on bits need sorting as does the interior.
After a 4 yr search I finally found the rare RHD VW Karmann Ghia with my name on it,that had been locked away for 26yrs in a dry garage, bought it,recomissioned it,put the reg on the XK8 then sold it,as many VW fans were after it.
Did a 3 month all panel baremetal repaint, and overall refurb on the daily driver Rover V8 and bought the Jag XK8 to try and get into modern classics!
Nice as it was I dont get on with cars that have or need computers or fancy electronics to run, so after doing an overhaul of its mechanical problems I sold it and bought the MGTF.
The only thing I dont do to my cars is paint them, but I do the strip the mechanicals, trim etc out, bare metal the body, rewire, retrim, mechanical overhaul with a clean and paint and reassembly.

Luckily for me I am single, and no kids!! :D
The boss doesnt mind,as he has a car of his own to lick and polish!

He likes to get involved when I am playing with mine, and tries to help, but normally just looks smug!
