Rear Seat Belts

Post by Auntie Baarbie »

Sold Barbara the Beetle this morning and bought Baarbie the Traveller this afternoon. Here she is with Toby, Tilly & Edie.

All had become attached to Barbara and there were tears when I told the gals that she was going, but that was replaced with whoops and laughter when we went for a quick jaunt tonight. Tilly wants to have her take her to her wedding - whenever that's going to be (!), Toby wants me to leave her to him and to teach him to drive in her and Edie? She just kept kissing the wood!

Anyway. Seat belts. With 3 of them I was thinking of having 2 inertia reel belts with a lap belt. Question is though is there enough space across the back seat? Anyone done anything similar?

And it's good to be back in the BMC fold. I've had Midgets and Sprites in the past - and although I came to like Barbara, driving a Savannah Beige Beetle was never really me![frame]Image[/frame]

Yes, mount the reels on the rear arches (search for similar topics, it's been covered many times, but we're always happy to help if you get stuck) and the buckles under the seat. There is just enough room to fix the lap belt either side of the tunnel under the seat. It wouldn't suit 3 x 18 stone blokes, but up to around 18 years old, three should be quite comfortable.

You will need Securion Part Number 264 not 254 inertia seat belts. 254 are too short for the Traveller.

All are available through most Morris Minor suppliers.
