QUOTE;" If this item only reaches silly money with 12 hours to go will end the auction"!
It's reached silly money already and there almost two days to go!!
'Spose it depends on how one interprets "silly money"!!!
Must go now. Got air filters to polish!

What he means is if it has only reached silly money (Low Price like say £12) at 12 hours before listing finishes then he will end the listing IE pull it off.
I would have thought that is agains Ebay rules, he should have listed it with a reserve price, but that itself cost's a fee Mmm...

Yes, sounds like a lot at first glance, but looking from a cottage industry point of view - (I've recently set myself up with a small parts cleaner, sand blast cabinet and spray gun), I would estimate the cost of restoring an air cleaner as follows;
Post to me - £4.49
Degrease and paint strip - .5 hr (@£18 per hour) - £9
Degreaser and chemical paint striper - £1
Sand blast - .5 hr - £9
Blast media - .50p
Prime - .25 hr - £4.50
Primer - £1.50
Top coats - .5 hr - £9
Black gloss - £4
'Coopers' sticker - £2
Filter - £3.90
Post & Vat for sticker and filter (BM) - 4.49
Post back to customer - £4.49
Total cost £57.87
Interestingly, I'm just about to do the exact same excersize for my Daughters car - of course in this instance - there's no charge - and probably not even a 'thanks Dad'! Doh![frame]

So what paint would you use, Gloss black rattlecan or domestic brush on gloss?

Unless I had a lot of other things to do at the same time - I'd use an aerosol spray, it's a lot easier for small jobs as it takes a while with the setting up of the spray gun and then all the vleaning afterwards. Before I got my spray set up I used brushing paint, but I never got the finish I wanted. Using light build up coats leads to an even finish that seems sturdier than brushing. But the best thing is the blast cabinet! It leaves a fine etch to the surface and paint hold to that really well. I quite like 2k Acrylic which eventually cures to a super resilient coating - but again some extra flaff with mixing the 2 parts. Tried cellulose which was ok apart from the fumes!
