I believe some do - but it's not a good gearbox, and a v tight fit between the chassis legs....

yes it can be used, you will need to modify the bell housing but it is not a particularly tight fit, however you will need to change the back plate, to move the starter motor (which is where you modify the bell housing) and as i understand it the template for the back plate can not be found. So i would look for one of those before progressing down the route of using the ital engine and box.

Yes if you move the starter it's not a tight fit - but what a palaver! And it's still not a great gearbox.......

Here's the link. Not inexpensive. See how thin it is round the starter hole! That's because the marina flywheel in larger diameter - I had assumed a Minor fly would be used to keep the overall diameter more reasonable. http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=50861

No its not a great gearbox. Syncro tends to disapear on worn ones 2nd particularly on my Suntor. (I just pretend its prewar and drive it accordingly!). I think only real advantage over the Minor box is synchromesh on 1st gear. You have to fit hydraulic clutch too....
Regarding spares, its a Triumph box, I think they're the same as a Dolomite etc
