Post by lambrettalad »

I visited The Oxford Museum (TOM) in Woodstock and in their display of the history of Oxford it clearly states Mr Morris makes his first car 1914 :o

You'd have thought a museum of local history would have its dates right though :-?

I'm happy to beleive that everyone except the Oxford Museum in Woodstock has their dates right and we've all just been tot he proper 100th anniversary of Morris cars...
Reminds me a bit of the Motor100 celebrations at Silverstone in 1985 I think, celebrating 100 years since the first motor car was built. Other organisations had other 100 anniversary dos around that time depending on what you classed as the first motor car and when...
cheers

I went to the Motor 100 show in 1985 at Silverstone. Blimey nearly 30 years ago. :(

We were approached by a chap trying to get some vehicles over to Northern Ireland to take part in a show he was organising.

Four of us took vehicles over, all expenses paid....a great time was had by all,(we stayed in Portrush) especially when on the Saturday night local boy Barry Mc Quichan won his boxing match...I think we crawled home to bed as the sun rose.

What about the modern end?
I'm not aware of any Morris cars being built today.
