Indicator/hazard problem

Hi Folks,

The new Morris is going well.

However a wee problem has occurred that is annoying me. Probably been there all the time but I have just noticed it.

I have hazard warning lights fitted.

When you turn left the green light on the indicator stock flashes okay and all is well.

When you turn right the green light on the indicator stock flashes but the hazard warning switch flashes too.

All the flashers and hazard warning lights operate as they should.

Only the hazard warning light illuminated switch flashing in time with the green stock light when turning right is the problem.

Obviously the hazard warning light switch is off during the above scenario.

I know it is no great problem just an interesting one, for me anyway!

All the best,

Ian

Now there is a question.

It is the one you can get on ebay.

It has a pull out switch that is illuminated.

The hazard warning relay is fitted on a bracket behind the illuminated switch.

I will need to check that.

Will do tomorrow, I do have the original indicator relay under the bonnet.

The flasher relay is under the dash.

the lucas ones have an inbuilt relay, you then just connect the wires into the excisting indicater loom

Just checked out the wiring and quite honestly was struggling to trace the wires.

However you are correct the wiring from the new hazard warning lights do disappear into the existing wiring loom.

I was round at my local garage and explaining the fault to the mechanic.

He tried the indicators and it did do the same with the hazard warning light on the switch.

He then turned the hazard warning lights on and off and the fault disappeared.

He reckons the hazard warning switch was not fully pushed in!!

Whether that is right or wrong we will never know. But it has stopped doing it now.

Will keep my eye on it and thanks for your help and advice it did help.

All the best,

Ian
