Messageboard claims "my new email address already in use"

Wishing to update my email to: pplumbe6@bigpond.com (Obsolete one is plumby@aanet.com.au)
An attempted update fails however as I told that the bigpond address is "already in use".......
So, since I only use entity "plumby74", can you please either just force the change, OR delete any other entity/Log-on relating to or linked to the said bigpond address?
