says for small indicator lights.Worth a phone call to check ?

The word Minature helped a lot though some peoples idea of a minature bulb looked pretty big to me.
The only fly in the ointment is that it's a 6 volt bulb :(

it's hard to give an answer without any measurements.
Every socket looks the same size on my laptop...

I'm guessing a BA9 is way too big (9mm dia bayonet) - which is most peoples version of a small bulb for a car!
it's not too hard to get hold of BA7 (e.g. ebay) - these are not uncommon for panel lights.
if it's 5mm, then you could try getting an E5 (screw) bulb to fit, or try and find a BA5 incandescent bulb.
I'd avoid a BA5 LED lamp as this may be narrow beam angle which might not be much use for this application.

Good point, well made.
It wouldn't surprise me if it was 6 volts originally, lord only knows where it came from .

Quite a common bulb, I have 3 on my Series MM switches. 12v push fit with guides on each side to slide in slots in illuminated switches[frame]Image[/frame]

I have a switch exactly like yours,it came in an original lucas box with a reversing light,but the bulb on mine is 24volt.
