Another TV company at it.
Had a call last Friday from a TV company asking me if I could provide my car for three days filming next week, they got my number from my local owners club group. I asked them to email me the details for consideration, I then agreed to provide my car as it was local and I was going to give the money paid to a local charity. They emailed me back thanking me for providing my car and saying they will send me details of were and when I need to be. Sunday I find out they have also booked a second car for the same filming with another Traveller owner, Tuesday I find they've booked a third Traveller for the same filming. So far I have had no further contact from them.

Just mention Public Liability Insurance - That usually scares them off!!!

It's possible they are covering the bases in case they set up for filming - and you don't turn up. Or perhaps they really do want 3 Travellers!

Could be they are covering the bases, but they defiantly only want one Traveller as it is for the use of the main character. I just smell another Wheeler Dealers situation with numerous owners being messed about by another TV production company.bmcecosse wrote:It's possible they are covering the bases in case they set up for filming - and you don't turn up. Indeed! Do keep us posted - and don't be shy to tell the name of the TV Co.

Re: Another TV company at it.
Only let your car be filmed for a minimum of £100 per day, plus expenses, i.e. 40p a mile travelling plus any parking/ congestion charges etc. They should also feed you and provide drinks etc. Any less than this and you're being ripped off by the TV company!
Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Re: Another TV company at it.
I hope you tell them where to go
You may end up on a list now like I did and keep getting mithered if I would like to pay to be put on fictitious filming listings

Best I don't respond as my reply would involve telling them to go forth and multiply.irmscher wrote:I hope you tell them where to goYou may end up on a list now like I did and keep getting mithered if I would like to pay to be put on fictitious filming listings

Re: Another TV company at it.
I am a bit confused.
I own a morris minor and have been known to take my morris to a show, encouraging people to look at it and to show off, if you like, the work put into it. I take it as a matter of pride to see people admiring it.
It cost me money to get to and from the venue the show would most times sell admission tickets in the hope of making a profit.
If a tv company wanted to use my MM I would be pleased to think that my moggie may be appearing on the box or on the screen.
If I had any expense involved then I would of course expect to be recompensed ( differing from a car show).
If I were a film producer and I needed to use a morris ( or any other car come to that) I would think it prudent to find out what cars I would have available to me at the time required and then, from the ones available, choose the best one for me. If I were asked if my car was available but not used, where is the inconvenience to me? I don't see in the OP message any sign of an agreement or appointment made, only a confirmation that more than 1 car was being considered. Would you buy the first car you enquired about buying? You would certainly have to ask if its for sale and if the seller says yes, does that suggest a commitment to buy?
Ripped off? I don't think so. Fed up with people keep phoning you wanting to film your vehicle? say no!
I have a picture of my old traveller featured in a magazine. Did I get paid? No, but I have got a framed copy on my wall.
I may be a bit more laid back than some but do get a bit tired of people living on the assumption that everyone is out to get them.

Despite confirming on the telephone and by follow up email that they wanted to use my car.
Never mind perhaps I misunderstood the bit were they thanked me for providing my car and said they will send me details of where and when they wanted me to be.
