I'm getting pretty good at translating the different terms we all use. Seems like someone wrote up a bit of a Yank/Limey dictionary at some point.
But I'm struggling with one just now: What's "offside" and "nearside"?
Thanks, "y'all"!!

near side is left side or pasenger side
off side is right side or drivers side
veiwed from inside the car
and of course for right hand drive
left hand drive will be
near side is right side or passenger side
off side is left side or drivers side
veiwed from inside the car

and of-course there are -
headers (exhaust manifolds)
mufflers (silencers)
windshield (windscreen)
fenders (wings)
gasoline (petrol)
sway bars (anti-roll bars)
wrench (spanner)
licence plate (number plate)
back up lights (reversing lights)
sedan (saloon)
and those are just the ones I can think of right now!

Forget left and right of the car. With the car driving along the road for which it was designed (ie driving on the left in the UK, the right in the US) then the nearside is the side nearest the pavement (sidewalk). The offside is a completely different rule to do with football, and nobody understands it

(people who play soccer might not understand that)

Not quite related, but a piece about differing football - soccer terms that confuse.
I'm a hooker back home said a rugby player to some American's is a good example

Considering people down South don't understand me, I hope I don't have to try and explain everything IRL
