Clutch Judder

My Traveller has Clutch Judder at times, it is worse when reversing. I have checked all the engine and G/box mounts and found them all to be ok. The cable that goes from the G/box to the G/box support is also ok. Before I take the gearbox out and check the clutch has anyone got any other ideas.

I am having the same problem with my 4 door (new clutch fitted 8000 miles ago). I found that the steady bar at the rear of the engine was to tight / engine to rigid. I have checked the bushes on the steady bar and loosened it a bit and it has made it better. It hasn't gone away completely but I am happy enough at the moment.

Probably oil on the plate - or loose linings and/or centre springs. Have you tried a 'burn out' to see if it improves - even briefly? Just rev up hard in top gear/handbrake hard on/nothing in front and lift your foot off the clutch...... It should stall right away. If you decide to investigate - it's MUCH easier to slide the engine forward to access the clutch.....

How often do you use the car? I bought a little-used car afflicted with the exact same problem. Pressed into everyday service the judder soon disappeared.
