Following BMC advice in various posts about what spares to carry I now come to the subject of a spare dizzy type 25D4 for my car but I am confused , they seem to be available new on some web adverts for about £40 ish which includes everything including the vacuum unit and in some cases a free red rotor arm .My question is are these ok /how do they do it for the price . Any advice would be welcome

The 'new' ones are fine -probably made in India - but many are using them without problems. Just as long as the 'spare' is KNOWN to be good, and is complete with rotor/cap /HT leads etc. So if you buy a spare - new or otherwise - put it on your car, and wrap up the one you remove and carry it as the spare. Same applies to fuel pump, and carb, and alternator........

All these little parts will easily fit under the wood - alongside the spare wheel. If really stuck - move the wheel to under the bonnet thus releasing LOTS of space for spares. Complete spare head is a good idea too........
