Paint question

Post by stag36587 »

I was planning to use cellulose to give my car it's full respray but just wondered what people thought about water based paint?

Is everything prepared in the same way?

Cost comparison with cellulose?

Also I think I read somewhere that a lacquer should be used over the top coat?

Views please ?

I think for water based you may need an oven ? Celly is best for home use - but after making myself ill with the fumes, I now only use it outdoors on a good sunny day with little wind. Today would be good !

water based paint will only skin over with heat.It needs a moving flow of warm air (fan heater springs to mind). It doesnt really call for any special safety considerations to apply it but youre right its finished with 2 pack lacquer which most certainly does!
