the bush in my rear damper link is braking up ....
can these be bought and replaced?
or is it buy new damper link
thanks
should have said its the cup shaped ones
I doubt very much you can buy just the rubber insert, from experience when they fail and in its location you don't notice until its too late and the metal ball has started to wear the housing away after the rubber has gone.
For the cost I would just buy a replacement link arm.

New rod.......it's not renewable - it's moulded in there. You could of course make up a link using rose joints - although the fitting into the damper arm is a taper fit which makes it slightly tricky. May need to drill it out to a parallel bore.
I did think about making one from rosé joints but didn't as I felt the rubber inserts offer a degree of additional damping through the chassis. Maybe two rose joints connected with threaded rod would make the action too rigid.

Will certainly increase NVH to the bodyshell! (Noise Vibration Harshness) and quite unnecessary in a standard car. However I have a pair of uprated MGB rear dampers I hope to fit one day - and they will need some kind of special connecting link - probably involving rose joints......
new links fitted today
ordered from bull motif yesterday morning.
fast service... also came with bushes fitted etc.
the old links were oval with no rubber remaining
should make some difference ...
i hope
