hi there im a new owner with a problem

about 6 months ago in a moment of madness i bought a pickup for a bargain price

but there was no v5 or history with it

the registration number was said to be in the many boxes of parts with the deal

there was a reg number and also another vin tag different to the one on the pickup

here in lies the problem, the reg plate i found ties in with the spare vin tag and is a traveler

the tag on the pickup looks to be original and is from what i can gather is a pickup

if i post the number can anyone give me any more info on it and also is there any other numbers on the pickup that will identify this as i want to het the reg number back on it

one other point is the v5 was taken by somebody 2months before i bought the pickup, he paid a deposit and took the v5 never to be seen again, if the v5 has been sold on what will the outcome with dvla be? would i get the reg back if i can prove i have the original truck?

sorry for the extensive questions but id like to sort this headache out before i start to repair this truck for the road

Did the previous owner not have any pictures of the p-up when it was in it's 'prime' - and can he not remember the number?? Or does he not have the details of the person that left the 'deposit'. It all sounds rather dodgy to me - you certainly can't use the Trav details......

No previous owner bought it as a box of bits also and stored it for a number of years on his farm,

he no longer has or can find the other buyers details

No ours is in green and we live up north,
we only have a chassis cab at the minute no rear body,
am gonna get other numbers tomorrow to try and sort out ID issues

No old MOTs with the car...? Or old tax discs in the glove box? Or Reg No etched on the glass??

What about the last owner the guy got it from ??
