Further to prior listings

I have converted my moggy van to 1981 Ital brakes etc

re wheels

I have been offered a set of aftermarket alloys that were fitted to a 1974 MGB GT

they are marked as 14J MINATOR

the hole centres are 4.5. inch? measured by a rule

Will they fit the Ital braking system on my moggy?

True that. There are quite a range of mgf alloys out there. You can also look at Herald, Spitfire and GT6 wheels. Usually 13inch though.

Unless you have Ital VAN hubs/axle etc - when the MGB wheels WILL fit.

The only way to know for sure is to measure your hubs!

Hi all

How are you BMCecosse?

the pcd is right but I am having real problems sorting studs and also the centre hole on the wheels is smaller than the bearing cover so the wheels wont fit right. Is that cos my hubs are some sort of odd marina? Should I grind the wheels out or something?

If the pcd is 'right' for the MGB wheels - then you must indeed have VAN hubs. The centre hole - you will need to get it machined out to allow the hub to enter. Then you may need to get special nuts made up - are they 'sleeve nut' type wheels?? Not familiar with MGB fitments..... Let's see a picture or two!

Sorry - they are MGF wheels. I have MGF nuts with them.

You said 1974 MGB GT wheels......... MGF are 3.75" pitch - so yes - must be standard Marina/Ital parts.

Yes - I think I have read that they always need a lick out of the centre.

russell what studs have you got in your hubs? if you are still running marina / ital ones you will need to change them for metro mgf studs as the sizes are different. which mgf alloys have you got a few people have fitted them so you might get a definitive answer on machine out the centres, if it is of any help when i fitted steel space savers i had to use a spacer but did not need to touch the centres..
