I am planning a trip to France in my 1955 convertible and while I have great faith in it I would like the peace of mind of having a recovery get you home cover.
Can anyone recommend an affordable policy please.

Exactly - covered by most classic car insurance - it's a real bargain!

I recommend AA, as I live in Northern Ireland I have to have European cover when driving over the border in Eire. On a couple of occasions it has more than paid for its self, once when a head gasket blew on my minor and another time when a diff seized on a friends Ford Consul.
I think mine is about £130 a year, but if your buying a new policy go through Topcashback website and you should get some money back after you have had the policy a few months.

Have a very heavy duty rear bumper fitted in case anyone runs into the back of you. They love to tail-hang here!
