Electronic pumps repair

Hi all sorry to post this here but i really need some urgent help on this one! My electronic pump disfunctioned and i found out that the chip inside became so hot it melted the soldering and a capacitor! Any help on how to put it back together is very much apprecited! ... Next sunday i have a wedding to attend with my mog and i dont want to disappoint the brides maids![frame]Image[/frame]

If you get in touch with Burlen with the pump model no they should be able to supply a new module but you need to find out why it burnt out is it seized, did you leave the ign on with out the engine running for a long time.It looks a fairly new pump is it still under warranty

Do you have a secondhand spare you could fit ( it is wise to have a spare pump anyway )

Thanks Ian for your reply! I get a spare one asap from a friend of mine then try to get a module...

Seems like someone turned the ignition on for me while i left it in the garage, even the battery was flat...

Hopefully i get it sorted soon!

Best to avoid the electronic pumps - good old 'points' pump is good for 40 years or so. Secret switch would have saved that pump........... Oh -and if the Ign was ON all that time - good chance the ignition coil/points/condenser have also been overheated - check carefully........

Could be there was no fuel in the tank too! Probably that helped too!
