Missing stud at manifold on engine block

Post by morris man from ?? »

Hi all

Just bought my first movie a 55 split screen and was putting a new carb and three branch manifold and I think one stud came. Out and will not go back in, so assume it has cross threaded. can I run the car with one stud missing at the exhaust manifold?

Help much appreciated

Thanks

Gar

NO! What engine is in the car? Just fit a new stud - 5/16" unf thread. Often with a 3 branch - the two end studs are changed to bolts for ease of fitting....

Hi
It's a 998 with an unleaded head, I will look into your suggestion and thanks for the advice

Sorry was meant to say the stud missing was in the middle which ties in with the inlet manifold

998 ??? You NEED all the studs..... A '3 branch' exhaust is not going to benefit an otherwise standard 948 (??) engine - quite the opposite possibly......
