1956 split screen

Post by Lindsay »

Hi

I own a 1956 split screen pick up, I know the pick up is a much later mod.
But I have read that 1956 saw the introduction of the one piece windscreen. Does this mean mine is one of the last to be produced with the slit screen?

Any help will be appreciated :)

The first LCV with a single piece front screen was chassis number 49801 (September '56). So depending on how close your chassis number is to this it may be one of the later split screen pick ups.

For saloons, travellers and convertibles the one-piece screen arrived in 1957 with many other improvements.
