1275 midget engine

might be able to get a 1275 midget engine
are these better than the ital marina

Yes - more straightforward installation as long as it comes with flywheel and clutch.....- and looks more 'original' with the Minor style oil filter.

Marina engine is similar to Midget - but as mentioned it has oil filter in 'wrong' place.
Front plate & back plate are different on Marina - with a little bit of work you can take front & back plate from a minor engine donor. Alternative is to use marina front plate and modify the engine mount towers (make them shorter).
By comaprison a Midget engine should just bolt in place of a minor engine.
Midget clutch & flywheel should fit a minor gearbox - although the midget 1275 box is slightly more durable than Minor 1098 (both use the same casting, so will look the same on the outside).
IIRC a Marina clutch is too big for Minor 1098 gearbox bellhousing.
On the flip side the Ital A+ 1275 engine is stronger than the alternatives.
