I have not been able to find out much about door window frames being made of mild steel (painted) or stainless steel and was there a difference between home and export models?

My '51 MM is from Belgium, LHD, and has painted steel window frames...
but the previous I had, a '54 RHD and a '56 RHD had stainless steel window frames.

Early mms came with chrome tops, then they were painted later on. Export cars had chrome ones for a time. 4 doors saloons all had stainless tops as did travellers.

My MM was made in May 1950 and was fitted with painted steel tops when I bought it, they were in seriously bad condition with both quarter light catches broken so I changed them for later stainless one off a traveller.

My left one was also rusted, but today I found another one ;)
where to buy the rubber between the quarter light and the door?
Does ESM have these parts?
