I am deliberating between steel and fiberglass wings for the front. Would any of you recommend fiberglass? If so who is the best supplier ?

Thanks

If you have a choice go for steel, either way you take a gamble on the fit.

Right ok, thanks. I'm not too keen on the new steel ones as they have the seam where the metal has been joined around the headlamp going down the the bottom, and I have seen where this rots through very quickly

I had fibreglass from JLH and they fitted grand.
Unless i was building/restoring a minter, i would always go for either good second hand steel or fibreglass. My personal choice of course, but i would never pay more for second hand steel than new fibreglass.

The new steel wings are not good. Even the heritage parts are very poorly pressed and need work to fit properly. The cheap ones are appalling and if even if you do have the skill and patience to get them to fit they are so flimsy that they will not last long. Good used original wings are definitely best, but you need to be sure that they are original and that they do not have any rust penetration.

Fiberglass can be made to fit and look great, with work. If you are not after a show finish, just use whatever is cheapest!

Fibreglass can be thickened up with more layers of fibreglass on the inside to make something very very strong. If you do go for fibreglass it's worth adding a layer of something to stop any stones that fly up crazing the glass. Some use just underseal, I glue on foam camping mat material.
