Other than the standard saloons, travellers, convertibles & LCVs,
what other Minor bodyshell was produced at Cowley to warrent
a separate body code?
Any thoughts please?

Ones Daddy worked on pressed steel at the Cowley plant. He pressed out floors, and roof's for Roll's Royce motor cars. Said it was a pain as he was paid on piece work rates, the more he pressed out, the more he got paid. But..five of them would work the press. Two would feed it, two would take the pressed panel out.one would operate the press. An inspector watched the whole process. Making sure the panels came out A1, the job was a little slower, affecting his pay,the slightest imperfection would see the panel rejected. He's almost sure the shells were made there as well. Worra about that then !

There was and option for a chassis cab where the purchaser could request a pick up or van chassis with a cab with no cab back so that a custom or bespoke rear end could be added by a coachbuilder. Paul Skilleter book page 137. Maybe that would account for a different body code?

GPO vans had their own series.
Whatever it was, t'was a Minor assembled at Cowley
before 1962.
Cab on a gown van same as normal LCVs.
