Hi I don't know if anyone can shed any light on this but I have found what looks like a 2 Pin plug socket fitted on the parcel shelf under the dashboard (its got lucas printed on it and its live). What is it for and what on earth would you plug into it? A radio maybe?? Here is the type of plug I am talking about http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lucas-2-Pin-P ... 9928720%26

Possibly a parking lamp? Wasnt it a requirement in the UK to have a parking lamp fitted if your car was left out on the street?

Yes it is the fitting for the parking lamp. I still have it on my '62 Traveller (under dashboard right of steering wheel) The light clipped onto the driver's quarterlight white at the front and red at the rear.

I concur, my '58 Traveller still has this fitting under the dashboard. The original Parking light which I got with the car, attaches to the window and has the same 2 pin plug.

A very useful thing to have, that. Inspection lamp, wireless, interior fan, kettle etc can just be plugged in securely.
