I think I am in love

Ok well I am fortunate to have several beautiful women in my life but I have a new love - a B & D Powerfile. What an amazing piece of kit - light, powerful, precise, easy to use. I picked one up on Amazon for about half list price and have made massive progress today smoothing down welds in all those awkward places that an angle grinder just won't reach. Fabulous. If you can get one of these, or something like it - do!

Agree about the powerfile I'm on my 3rd one, it's been my most useful renovation tool, wouldn't be without it.

Hmn, I might get one... especially with my poor beginners welds! What type of belt would you use to file poor welds?

You can get various grit belts from 40g at the roughest which is what came with the machine and what I have been using - so far successfully on my own welds. It's the precision, lightness and visibility that I find so much better than the grinder.
I have just ordered a set of 10 assorted belts from eBay for about £7

I would suggest 40 grit belts, when they wear down they can be used for any fine work. Also I've found the b&d belts seem to break more regularly so have been using the Zercon type, usually coloured blue, which seem much stronger.
