If you are an MMOC member under the age of 89 you should be able to get insurance through the Club Scheme. I

Give them a ring don't use the website.

Up until about 4 or 5 years ago I was driving a '49 MM Lowlight and I was insured with Footman James. Incidentally I hope to do so again this year, and this pensioner will be expecting a quote from them![frame]Image[/frame]

Hi Joe

The age of the car certainly isn't a problem for FJ. Have you phoned for a quote and been told it's too old?

Best regards

Dave

We used to insure our traction engine with Footman James and generally found them to be very difficult, we swapped from them because we thought if they were that difficult when trying to take out a policy we wouldnt like to have to process a claim through them. They wouldnt touch my 52 morris minor either!
My Morris Minor is insured with Lancaster Insurance, Lancaster House, Meadow Lane, St Ives, Cambs PE27 4ZB
Tel 01480 484806, they have been good but watch out for extra cover (legal benefits, key cover etc), they are very good at adding that for an addition to the premium which can add up to a third!

No problems insuring my varied fleet with FJ. Mid 30s to 1990s... And have been very helpful when I did need to claim.
However, just had my renewal notice through with another hefty price rise so I'll be looking at a few alternatives this year.
I know all insurance is going up but money doesn't come cheap these days.

Quite a few enginemen are complaining of large increases from Footman James on Traction Talk too (traction engine website).
