hi

not too sure if this has been covered, I looked through some of the 170+ pages!

my moggie 1000 is leaking oil somewhere! I'm not mechanical so please could replies be in basic language :D

it's been suggested that the rebreather pipe is spewing oil into the air filter, but is also leaking into the engine & out the back end too, & fuel efficiency has fallen off dramatically!

Unfortunately the older mechanic at the garage we go to has now retired so the younger guns are responsible for maintenance & it would be good to be able to go to them with some thoughts as they were not sure :D

Cheers

Paula

Sounds like your engine has a LOT of blow bye (the piston rings) and is pressurising the crankcase. Quick check - hot engine idling - take the oil filler cap off and rev up....is there a plume of smoke/fume?
