Recently bought a MM series 2 1961
All is fine driving up to 30mphm all is quiet. Close to 40mph the car starts to whine and reaches a scream when approaches 50mph.
I cant figure out if it is the diff, gearbox or engine.
Would gladly appreciate any comment before i dive under the.

1)take the fan belt off ,does it still scream?
2) and /or run up to speed and turn engine off and coast

And urgently check the oil levels in the gearbox (engine oil) and rear axle (EP90)..........

I am assuming this is a "mechanical" scream? My driver's door window seals (or more accurately, lack thereof) make a very high-pitched shriek above 50mph. Is it possible that it has aerodynamic origins?
