JLH have lots of details on how to fit it. No major structural work needed, a notched front crossmember (and 'damper crossmember??) is needed, new gearbox crossmember, the floor needs a little cutting out as the type 9 is longer, you need a different axle and a prop to mate the two. JLH fit a chassis strengthening kit as standard I think also.
Oh, and the Zetec will need converting for rwd, and a shallow sump fitting.

Flathead Fords and now a Zetec. You would be much better off fitting a 1000 engine and gearbox with rear axle to match. Or even a 1300 'A' Series.

the zetec engine wasnt for my own car, but for a freind who has one in the US. He needs a bigger engine than a 1300 really, for the long stretches they have over there.

A 1300 will cover a thousand miles in a day at 60 MPH and then some, without fatigue. Aside from the problem of fitting this Zetec has any thought been given to the ECU's, revised throttle, fuel injection (or possible carb. conversion), gearbox &c &c plus upgrading the running gear?

Speaking from Stateside, my Mog has a 1275 and 3.7 diff. Handles the long stretches very well.
