hi all.
at the moment im doing up an 66 traveller, i want to put some alloy wheels on not realy big one stand size will do , but im stuck in trying to find out from what car will fit the minor ,the hubs and stuff are all standard ive not played with them at all. i have tryed ford thay dont fit ,i have been told that the moggy is 4.5 j wich is the same as an vaxhall if this is right will it work ,or what over way should i go please help as im nearing my completion on the resto .

4.5J is the width of the wheel rim which is the least of your worries.

You need to find a wheel with the correct PCD (width between the wheel studs) and also the correct wheel offset (how far they stick in/out). And really the correct angle nut fittings (to the wheel).

You can buy new minilites in either 13" or 14" to suit the Minor.

I think the following wheels fit:

Wolsley/Riley 1500, MG Midget, Mini, or anything with a 4" PCD.

DON'T use a 100mm PCD wheel though (like a Rover 200) as 4" = 101.6mm and 1.6mm might not sound much and they do go on the car but when you tighen them up they bend and stress the wheel studs which could snap under cornering/driving stress.

Oh and if the rolling radius of the wheel is different from the standard Minor one then your speedo will read incorrectly but it can be re-calibrated for about £40 or a bit less.

Yeah, trouble is the vast majority of modern car wheel rims are metric and unsuitable.
