Series 2 speedometer changed to work with 1098 gearbox

I have just bought a silver faced 1098 (90 mph) speedometer with 5 numbers on the mileometer dial.
I have fitted the mechanism into my series 2 silver faced speedo, keeping the old 80 mph dial and everything else.
For the first time in 10 years my speedo reads about right!
My car was fitted a 1098 gearbx, I didn't know Smiths made silver faced 90 speedos till last week, and to find a 5 number one, not six, like most of the others, I think was a good find. On the reverse under the MPH plate, in pencil it is written 22/3/62, the 1098 minor wasn't released till September 1962.
By keeping the original face, the speedometer looks exactly like it did but works!
