Fiberglass doors for 2 door saloon

Post by philthehill »

I have had two new old stock (NOS) fiberglass doors R/H & L/H on the shelf for about 12 years. They look to have been professionally made but I cannot remember having seen any advertised anywhere. They were bought 3rd hand with no info. Interested to know who possibly made them. Any ideas?

Many thanks for the info.
Having read the attached postings I now suspect that the fiberglass doors originally came from Mighty Minor in Castleford. They supplied the wider rear wings currently fitted to my Minor.
As Innovator says in his attached posting the fiberglass doors do need some work to fit sucessessfully and that is the reason they have stayed on the shelf. As the original steel door assemblies have been seriously lightened and are now lighter than the fiberglass ones they have remained on the car.
You have solved one mystery for me though. In the 1970s I used to deal with a fiberglass panel company in Station Road Alcester (the name of which I had completly forgotten but have been recently been trying to recall) and realised from the attached post that the company was Honeybourne Mouldings and they are still going strong and advertising Minor (2 door) fiberglass doors. I shall have to enquire as to the quality of finish to their doors; so my two fiberglass doors may be up for sale very soon.
Regards
Phil
