Nut size

I've got good axle u bolts but with somes nuts missing, anybody know the nut size?, also are the same nuts used elsewhere on the car, thanks.

Hi,
Bull Motif does the U bolt including nuts for just £2 plus VAT, however if you give them a call I'm sure they will help you with your nuts.

Originals were a BDF size, probably 3/8 I think.
New ones probably won't be and could be AF or metric. Worth checking before you order new nuts for your old bolts.

Yes, sorry it was a typo. D is next to S on the key board and a lot of the letters are getting worn off on mine! Should read BSF as in British Standard Fine...

I may be telling you what you already know but each leg of the U bolt has two nuts fitted, a thick one, which goes on first, followed by a thinner one that locks up the first nut.

Yes, If you're not worried about original equipment use nylocs, in which case forget about two per leg!

3/8 BSF (with 5/16 WHITWORTH sized heads).
