Could you tell me what filter element you use? The Purolater which I have uses the standard A Series engine element but I believe that the AC has a larger bowl

Hi Mike, I think the manufacturer of the one I used a couple of weeks ago was WIPAC... it was a 'new old stock' item I bought a few years ago. In fact about a month ago someone was selling the very same type on eBay. I think the main thing to look out for is the size of the hole running through the middle as it needs to fit nicely so the spring can hold it correctly and it sits on the washer. The one that was in there when I bought the car had a much larger hole and was rattling about inside the bowl.

Mike
Mine is an AC filter housing and filter. The filter I bought from our Spares and it came as the AC type. Marked on the top of the housing is "type FF21". This is also on the box of the filter itself. I never gave it a thought that there were different sizes available! The engine is a USHM3 without water pump. Still in bits but hopefully will start the proper assembly soon.

Thanks for all your replies.
Colin is there any chance that you could compare your AC filter with a Minor 1000 filter so that I know if there is a difference?
