Ebay Scam???

Post by rogerowen »

This ad is currently running on Ebay. I've heard of some pretty unusual surnames - but this one is a bit suspicious? And by checking the phone number on Google the owner must be in India. It's attracting bids! The Ebay member selling on behalf of the owner has a good track record - can only think that their Ebay account must have been hacked.

Number checks out as being Pasan in India. It's noted as being operated by Black Horse - dealing in PPI insurance claims. Apparently we could all be owed £2,400!!!

Sold as seen.....without being seen. Good sales tactic.

Surely you wouldn't be expected to stump up (£630 at the moment) without even seeing the vehicle?

Doesn't ebay make provisions for this in their T&Cs when selling/buying a vehicle i.e. by sating it only needs a small amount of TLC the seller is wide open to a dispute from the buyer if that turns out not to be true?

I will send one of those special cheques, simular to the one given to me when I sold some parts on ebay, lucky I didn't send the bits when the cheque arrived (purely by chance).

or Cash on collection

Ebays provision is who's level of a little are we going to use mine, yours or Geordie Dave's ?

Best bet is STAY AWAY..............

Right, a bit of detective work!
If you look in the 4th picture you will see a sign in the background, "Sa******** *lass and glazing"
Now, type "glass and glazing bedfordshire" into google and you will find a company with the postcode LU7 9NY
Now type this into Google maps and go to Streetview (the little man) and pan round and you will see that very sign!
So, we now know where the pictures were taken and if the car won't run as stated, it is probably still there!
Anyone local to have a look? :-?
Google is your friend! :P 8)

Nice bit of detective work! Also, it looks like the claim of only one owner might be true - from what I have seen. Not sure why the seller would remove that from the listing though.

Only a fool would pay for a car sight unseen unless they have a very good reason to trust the seller.

Mr. Glovepuppet? Some sort of cryptic message perhaps?

There is precious little information on the listing description, but somebody wants it nontheless.

I am always very wary with some of this sellers bidders.
2 bidders have 100% activity with this seller and have very low feedback
