I have a 1966 convertible. The front seats are hinged at the front and tip forward - their positioning is not adjustable. When positioning my foot squarely on the accelerator pedal and resting my heel on the floor, the effect of the combination of seat position and foot position is to tilt my foot back so that the muscles in the back of my leg are stretched. After driving for about twenty minutes I get a pain in the leg! I've tried repositioning my foot to a more comfortable position but it then tends to slip off the pedal! My wife also has the same problem but solves it by wearing boots with a high block heel, not something that she will want to be wearing in the summer! If we set the pedal lower we will not obtain full travel and hence engine output. The garage suggested bolting a block under the rear of the seat to raise it and tip the seat forward but I am concerned that this would not only look awful but might also compromise safety.

Are we the only owners to encounter this problem? If not, does anyone have an effective solution?

I use a block of wood never had a problem ,I hide it under the carpet ,but there are much more sophisticated cures do a forum search to see some fab ones

Perhaps the seat needs new straps under the base? The seats ARE adjustable - there are alternative threaded holes in the floor......

Do you have an adjustable drivers seat? - I've seen a few Minors with 2 front passenger seats and no adjustable drivers seat as seats tend to get replaced.

A block of wood under the back of the seat is the traditional Minor seat adjustment as is a wooden clothes peg for holding the choke out.

Could you not put a thick rubber mat under where your heels are? This would have the same affect as your wife's boots with the big heel.

I can't understand how high heels help? Surely will make it worse !!

From reading your post it does sound like you have 2 front passenger seats fitted. All driver's seats in Morris Minors have some form of adjustment. There should be a small lever attached to the lower seat frame (roughly heel height) which lifts up to move seat forward or back. If you can post some pictures we can say for certain. Thank you everybody for your helpful posts. New to Minor ownership, I am embarrassed to admit that I have now found the seat adjustment lever. I am sure that this, together with the ability to reposition the seat as suggested in one post and with the use of the rubber height adjustment blocks as suggested in another will solve the problem.
